Press Release Author: Ministry of Sound
Industry: Marketing
Press Release Summary: Ministry of Sound today announced plans for delivering its most comprehensive coverage to date of the summer party season in Ibiza. Utilising an arsenal of the very latest Web 2.0 and mobile technologies including mobile video and voice blogging, social networking, internet TV and live digital radio, Ministry of Sound will be bringing dance music fans from all four corners of the globe closer to all the Ibiza action than ever before.
Press Release Body: Ministryofsound.com/ibiza is the definitive online destination for all things Ibiza this summer. A specially developed Ibiza portal features a comprehensive Ibiza guide and interactive maps, breaking news and interviews, blog reports, live radio broadcasts and TV shows from the Island, ensuring that dance music fans, whether on the island or not don't miss a single beat.
Ministry of Sound's Island Blogger Network, armed with Nokia N95 mobile phones and a golden pass to the hottest club nights and wildest parties, will be using the social communications platform Kyte to record events and post the videos online immediately, whether at a poolside party at midday, on board a yacht in the harbour, a sunset VIP bash or in one of the White Isle's famous club venues.
Mobile voice to text blogging through SpinVox will also be used for reports along with SMS Twitter feeds, eliminating the need for the Ministry blogging team to upload reports via a laptop and internet connection. Clubbers will also be able to use the same services to call and share their own thoughts and see them magically appear on the website moments later.
Based at Cafe Mambo the entire season, Ministry of Sound TV (MoSTV) will be broadcasting multiple weekly shows live from the Island - including event coverage, documentary style features and interviews. Using the Brightcove Internet TV player, dance music fans will be able to embed specific MoSTV content or the entire MoSTV Ibiza channel directly into their own websites, personal blogs, MySpace or Bebo pages. Ministry of Sound has also created a widget which members can embed, allowing content to be displayed straight from MoSTV onto their personal pages networking pages.
Also based at Café Mambo, Ministry of Sound Radio will be broadcasting weekly shows, DJ mixes & interviews with the Islands movers and shakers plus live phone 'ins' with clubbers from around the world. Ministry of Sound Radio and TV together are syndicated to a global audience of over 3 million.
There will also be a bespoke and free mobile Ibiza guide that users can access while on the island, by texting 'ibiza guide' to 80988. This will cover all the news, and TV clips, as well as club listings and ticketing services.
Ministry of Sound's 360 degree approach will be captured under one central Ibiza theme to ensure brand continuity between the various elements in the Ministry of Sound digital network. On top of this digital activity, this also gives exposure to Ministry of Sound's summer releases such as Clubbers Guide and The Ibiza Annual through using the music within all content, and directing people to downloads.
This unprecedented web activity supports Ministry of Sound's club promotions on the island, including boutique tour brand Housexy every Thursday at Eden with Twice As Nice, and DOWN:LOAD, bringing the Sound of Bassline Vs Garage Classics to San Antonio\'s stunning Es Paradis club every Sunday.
Tom Kihl, Editorial Director, at Ministry of Sound said: "With all of the world's biggest DJs playing at some of the most famous clubs in the world, Ibiza is a non-stop party over the summer. Reporting back after such events simply isn't good enough these days. People demand their information be updated as it happens, and with Kyte's amazing internet technology, SpinVox voice blogging service and a mobile phone, we can essentially report live from the dance floor! With unrivalled access to the key dance music players, our coverage of Ibiza 2008 will be as exciting as it is innovative.
Callan Harris, Digital Marketing Manager, said: "This campaign is about making use of our suite of digital products. This means streamlining the communication across our websites, mobile, social networking presences, newsletters, bespoke widgets, blogs and so on. This is about putting our content in a space where the users already spend their time -effectively engaging them where and how they choose.
This ensures cohesion between the media elements for the user, a far higher level of social interaction and a far more convenient 'hand-delivered' approach to coverage which will engage users like nothing previously seen before."
